I know I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this, but... I loved it when it first blew on, and then Simon started singing.

DONE.

I just can't stand his voice anymore.

I liked that the first time it was called "electric barbarella".

Exactly.  He sounds like a sick cat in heat.

I still like their first two albums.  The first being my absolute favorite.  Rio, loved it when it came out but so much got burnt on there.  I'm definitely a fan of the non singles.
Seven and the Ragged Tiger... I was young.  What did I know?  Plus, that was my first DD concert.  I hate just about every song on there except Shadows On Your Side and Of Crime and Passion.  Jeff LOVES to torture with that fucking Cracks In The Pavement song.  OMG I hate that song! Oh, and I Take The Dice.  I swear I wanna pull an Uzi out and blow up whatever piece of equipment the song is blasting from.  Ugh.

I do like the Notorious album... but, I have to say... after that, they totally lost me.  I totally dropped 'em and didn't buy anything of theirs until The Wedding Album - meh on that one too.

I dunno... as I got older, I realized how much I HATE Simon's voice.  The music is good... but, Simon? Not so much.

Truth be told?  I don't listen to them at all.  I don't have them in my iPod, or my iPhone.  I've got way better music to listen to than that hot mess of screaming.

Another vote for Electric Barbarella here. Those "whoa-oh-ohs" are hideous, but the song's not horrible otherwise.

It's a mess.  I'm certain that Nick's head exploded over the release of it before he got his production hands on it because it cannot possibly be finished.

Yes, Electric Barbarella was the first thing that hit my head which also led me to wonder if they aren't using some old stuff and simply "working" on them...  Like MV, I didn't like anything between Notorious and the Wedding album...well, except the song Palomino.

I don't like it at all, I hope it's not being considered for a single and I hope this is as bad as it gets for this album.  That being said, I'm over the band honestly...but a part of me is still rooting for them in some strange way.  I'd like to see them release a good album just one more time.

THIS.  And the mental image of it alone has sent me into giggles.

I hate leaks of any music before its finished because its still in the development stage and usually sucks ass!  But the mental image of Nick's head exploding?  Priceless!!!

I have to admit, I actually kinda liked the other two leaked snippets I've heard...

It wasn't a leak - the whole band gave Ronson permission to play a snippet on his show.

I'll admit I stayed up to hear it.  Actually, that's not entirely true, I'm usually up at that time anyway, and tuned in to listen.   It was 50 minutes into the show and then he just played 30 seconds, which I found hilarious.
Everyone immediately called the EB similarity, but I still can't hear that... in fact, it's 30 seconds long, I don' t have any opinion on it!!

...I heard EB in the sound, more than anything else.  And definately not finished, no.  Loved the reference to Nick's head exploding. gigglesnort

...as for leaks, technically I don't know if the Astronaut sessions (demos) qualify, but I loved those.  Still do.

This just in:

Quote
DURAN DURAN's new album is rumoured to be titled 'King of Nowhere'. The band have, however, confirmed that Scissor Sisters' Ana Matronic has guested on one track on the album, 'Safe', and producer Mark Ronson has previewed a 30-second snippet of a new track entitled 'Blame The Machine' during his weekly slot on New York's East Village Radio?

I can't stop laughing at the name of the album.  "King Of Nowhere"?  Really???   ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy ::::Cheesy
